OUR PUPPY PLACEMENT PROCESS
If you’re interested in one of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies, please email us with your information. You may receive an automated reply with helpful details, but rest assured, we’ll follow up personally. Our waiting list is organized chronologically, with priority given to past clients, and we do our best to accommodate everyone while keeping in touch with regular updates.
We breed all four recognized Cavalier colors: blenheim, tricolor, ruby, and black & tan, as well as chocolate variations.
Litters are available throughout the year, both from our own breeding program and through certified placements using our stud services.
At Royal Flush Cavaliers, our puppies are placed with families who are prepared, informed, and excited to welcome a new companion. With over 35 years of experience and a reputation as a top Cavalier breeder across Florida, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and beyond, we’ve refined a thoughtful and detailed process that ensures a smooth, healthy transition for every puppy:
Step 1: Our Contact List
We add you to our contact list and advise of availability.
Step 2: Submit Your Puppy Application
When we have a puppy available, we ask prospective clients to complete our Puppy Application Form to begin the process.
This allows us to learn more about your lifestyle, experience with dogs, and what you're looking for in a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Step 3: Personal Consultation
Once your application is received and reviewed, we’ll schedule a quick call.
This is a chance for us to connect personally, answer your questions, and guide you through what to expect.
Step 4: Preparing for Your Puppy
As you prepare for your new puppy, know that we’ll provide a few helpful things along the way.
We provide live cam updates with our litters, and social media video updates for mentorship litters.
We offer recommendations on products we use and find helpful on our SUPPLIES AND CARE page.
You would advise us of your vet's information for continuity, or we can assist you in finding one.

Our vet examines your puppy and he/she will receive their first vaccination - generally 6 weeks of age.
We schedule visits for depositors once your puppy receives its first vaccination.
We schedule pick ups for the puppies at around eight weeks of age.
Step 5: Pickup Day
Pick ups are in-person pickups at our homes in Florida or Massachusetts (seasonal).
Please note: We do not run multiple breeding locations concurrently.
Our dogs live as part of our household, and breeding takes place in the home where we are living at that time of year.
All clients receive a thoughtfully prepared gift bag full of useful health and care items, including one of our books.
A veterinarian certified healthy puppy that is current on wormings and vaccinations at time of placement.
Our contract and 5-year written health guarantee, with no stipulations or forced purchase requirements.

A NOTE FROM CHRISTINE
My name is Christine, and for more than 35 years I have had the privilege of working with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, raising generations of healthy, well-loved Cavaliers supported by one of the longest-standing health guarantees in the industry. In addition to my breeding program, I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned through writing, educational contributions, podcasting, agency work, and a website that has served us for nearly 26 years. I enjoy mentoring new breeders and, over time, have built a brand that reflects both creativity and care, including bestselling books, a Spotify podcast, an online shop, and projects such as Covergirl Cavaliers™, which features our dogs in calendars, books, national retail campaigns, commercials, and televised media, as well as a new partnership with Puppy Yoga Club. OUR BREEDING PROGRAM
Choosing a breeder is best when guided by education, information, dialogue, and an understanding that responsible breeding does not follow a single formula. Exceptional programs may look different while still upholding high standards of care, transparency, and accountability. At its core, responsible breeding focuses on producing healthy adult dogs, offering a solid health guarantee, and remaining available to families before, during, and long after placement. Breed clubs emphasize quality over quantity, to encourage breeders to maintain manageable numbers of dogs so each can live as a companion, receive individualized care, and be bred intentionally. This approach is central to our In-a-Home Breeding Program™, which provides our dogs with loving home environments while offering families participation in our breeding program.
Our adult dogs receive regular veterinary checks, including cardiac evaluations, eye screenings, and hip and elbow assessments. While we do not perform MRI screening, we do we give careful consideration to genetics, lineage, health history, and observed breeding outcomes, including neurological health as reflected through generations. Even comprehensive adult health testing cannot guarantee lifelong health in every puppy; for this reason, our buyers are offered our five-year health guarantee that reflects confidence in our breeding decisions while acknowledging the realities of biology.
HEALTHY DOGS AND OUR HEALTH GUARANTEE
A health guarantee should be centered on genetics and responsible breeding practices, not conditioned on compliance with third-party products or programs that financially benefit the breeder. When guarantees are tied to required purchase of foods, supplements, or other ongoing purchases, this can create a conflict of interest. We offer guidance based on experience, but families are never required to purchase products or services that generate income for us just to keep their guarantee intact. We encourage buyers to carefully review any health guarantee and understand whether stipulations are attached, as ethical guarantees reflect confidence in breeding decisions, not forced product sales or affiliate arrangements. Our program is one of collaboration, mentorship, and professional oversight. We work closely with a small group of regional breeders, many of whom are medical professionals in human healthcare, and collaborate with select national breeders in Florida, New York, Tennessee, and California. These relationships create a system of shared accountability and ongoing evaluation, with breeding decisions reviewed collaboratively, and guided by health, temperament, and long-term outcomes. Some members of our group do not maintain a public web presence, so we provide support throughout the entire process, from breeding and whelping through placement. All client families are introduced to everyone involved in the breeding decisions for their litter, ensuring transparency and a complete understanding of our program. We believe mentorship and collaboration strengthen ethical breeding by preserving quality bloodlines while expanding responsible options for our dogs and their families.
PUPPIES AND PROTOCOL
For Cavaliers, a breed that thrives on human connection and emotional engagement, ethical breeding is not measured by the number of dogs housed in one location. Many respected breeders intentionally limit the number of dogs in their homes to ensure individualized care and quality of life. We maintain a number no greater than six dogs in our home while responsibly continuing our program through a broader network of past clients participating in our In-a-Home Breeding Program™ and mentees within our Cradle to Crown™ Program. This structure allows for the preservation and development of bloodlines without compromising emotional well-being, while offering families meaningful, supported participation in the process.
Transparency extends beyond adult dogs to include the breeding process itself. We document our litters through live-cam and regular video updates from birth, including the mother with her puppies, developmental milestones, socialization, and daily care. Parents are available on site for scheduled appointments, and puppy visits are welcomed after the first vaccination, both in our home and in the homes of program participants, allowing families to meet the puppies and those directly involved in their care. While in-person visits can be valuable, they are not the sole measure of transparency, particularly when responsible breeders also prioritize biosecurity and the health of young puppies. Ongoing documentation, and consistent communication provide families with meaningful insight throughout the process.
A WORKING COLLABORATIVE
We value a truly collaborative approach to breeding through both our Mentorship Program and our In-a-Home Breeding Program™. Our client families and mentees are actively involved at every stage of the process, creating a shared and transparent experience across our programs and litters. We intentionally introduce everyone involved, giving families the opportunity to meet those contributing to their litter, one of the key reasons our program has remained successful over time. We believe collaboration and group participation strengthen responsible breeding, which is why we actively welcome new breeders into our mentorship programs. OUR PUPPIES
We offer a spectrum of AKC-registered Cavalier colors, from the classic Blenheim, Tricolor, Black and Tan, and Ruby to beautiful Chocolate variations. Through collaborations with fellow breeders, we continue to broaden the palette and preserve the breed’s natural diversity. While the AKC conformation standard officially recognizes only four colors for the show ring, the AKC registration system itself is more inclusive, allowing Cavaliers in additional shades, such as chocolate, black, and black-and-white, to be fully registered for pedigree and breeding purposes.

Through collaborations with fellow breeders, we continue to broaden the palette and preserve the breed’s natural diversity. While the AKC conformation standard officially recognizes only four colors for the show ring, the AKC registration system itself is more inclusive, allowing Cavaliers in additional shades, such as chocolate, black, and black-and-white, to be fully registered for pedigree and breeding purposes.

INTRODUCING OUR CHAMPION COMPANION CAVALIER PROGRAM ™ - A UNIQUE DUAL OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY
We’re excited to introduce our Champion Companion Cavalier Program™—a unique opportunity for those interested in both companionship and showing Cavaliers. While we don’t currently show our own dogs, several of our Cavaliers placed on show contracts have found success in the ring. Through this new program, we’re seeking individuals passionate about recreational showing, whether in AKC conformation, obedience, or agility.
As part of the program, you’ll receive a Cavalier puppy free of charge, with the agreement to show them. We maintain dual ownership during the contract period, and upon its completion, full ownership is transferred to you. This approach not only familiarizes our Cavaliers with the show environment but also gives you a chance to enjoy the experience of showing or a chance to develop your own breeding or show program.

The American Veterinary Medical Association recommends that microchipping be performed or supervised by a veterinarian to ensure safe placement and reduce risks. Vets can recommend trusted brands, properly implant the chip, and notify you of any recalls or changes to registration. While microchipping is low-cost (and often free through pet insurance wellness plans) it’s not without risk. Improper placement can lead to infection, swelling, hair loss, or chip migration, and company closures can render your pet’s chip untraceable if you’re not informed. For these reasons, we do not microchip puppies. We believe this procedure is best left to your veterinarian, where it belongs. WE DO NOT IMPOSE AGE RESTRICTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO PURCHASING A PET
We do not support policies that are discriminatory in nature, especially when it comes to age. Dogs provide meaningful companionship, emotional support, and health benefits to people of all ages, from helping seniors stay active to teaching children empathy and responsibility. Cavaliers, in particular, are known for their gentle, loving nature and thrive in a wide range of homes. While we take placement seriously, and we believe responsible ownership (not age) should guide that decision. I had my first puppy at just two years old, so why place unfair restrictions on others? If you’ve been denied a puppy placement solely because of your age, we encourage you to review both your state’s and the breeder’s civil rights and consumer protection laws, as such practices may be not only unethical, but also potentially unlawful.

In terms of size, English Toy Spaniels weigh between 8 to 14 lbs, while Cavaliers fall within the 13 to 18 lbs range, which occasionally leads to attempts to misrepresent them as "toy" Cavaliers. Both breeds face heart valve concerns, but due to their shorter muzzles, English Toy Spaniels encounter breathing issues as well. Additionally, both breeds might be susceptible to neurological problems, with English Toy Spaniels being more predisposed due to the size and shape of their heads. Though exhibiting similarities, English Toy Spaniels and Cavaliers remain distinct breeds that should not be confused with one another.
