LOOKING FOR A CAVALIER PUPPY IN FLORIDA?
Christine's brother, David, and his wife Milli have expanded the family’s breeding program to Florida, offering year-round puppies and stud service. Growing up under the guidance of his sister Christine, who has over 35 years of experience, David has spent nearly his entire life with the breed. A former teacher, he transitioned into law enforcement. Milli, a former teacher's assistant, is a stay-at-home mom and dedicated Cavalier mom. Together, they continue the exceptional breeding practices established by Christine, offering health-checked and DNA-tested puppies and stud services, while remaining committed to the betterment of Cavaliers, something at the heart of their family’s thriving business that has been serving Cavalier lovers nationwide since 1990.
OUR PUPPY PLACEMENT PROCESS
If you’re interested in one of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies, please email us with your information. You may receive an automated reply with helpful details, but rest assured, we personally follow up with every inquiry. Our waiting list is organized chronologically, with priority given to past clients. We make every effort to accommodate families while maintaining consistent communication and updates throughout the process.
We breed all four recognized Cavalier colors: Blenheim, Tricolor, Ruby, and Black & Tan, as well as chocolate variations. Puppies are available throughout the year from both our carefully planned breeding program and select certified placements through our stud services. At Royal Flush Cavaliers, we love placing puppies with families who are prepared, informed, and genuinely excited to welcome a new companion. With over 35 years of experience and a reputation as a trusted breeder across Florida, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and beyond, we’ve developed a thoughtful, hands-on process to ensure a smooth and healthy transition for every puppy.
Step 1: Join Our Contact List
We add you to our contact list and keep you informed of any upcoming availability.
The list goes in chronological order with past clients taking precedence.
Step 2: Submit Your Puppy Application
When a puppy becomes available, prospective clients are then invited to complete our Puppy Application Form.
This helps us understand your lifestyle, experience with dogs, and what you’re looking for in a Cavalier.
Step 3: Personal Consultation
After reviewing your application, we schedule a personal call.
This is an opportunity to connect, answer your questions, and guide you through the next steps with clarity and confidence.
Step 4: Preparing for Your Puppy
As you prepare for your new addition, we provide ongoing guidance and resources to support you:
Live cam access to our litters and social media updates for mentorship litters
Product recommendations through our Supplies and Care page
Assistance with selecting or coordinating with your veterinarian
A CRITICAL ALERT FOR PET OWNERS SEEKING A NEW VETERINARIAN
PRIOR TO PLACEMENT, YOUR PUPPY WILL:
Be examined and approved for placement by our licensed and board-certified veterinarian
Receive their first vaccination (typically at 6 weeks of age)
We schedule visits after the puppies have received their first vaccination and they are placed at 8 weeks of age.
If your puppy is part of the mentorship program you will meet with Christine and the mentorship breeder.
Step 5: Pickup Day
Pickups are conducted in person at our home in Florida or Massachusetts (seasonal).
Please note:
We do not operate multiple breeding locations simultaneously, we are snowbirds and our puppies are raised in our home.
Mentorship program families raise their puppies in their respective homes with Christine overseeing every aspect and placement.
Each client family receives:
A thoughtfully curated gift bag with essential care items, including one of our books
A veterinarian-certified healthy puppy, current on vaccinations and deworming
A comprehensive contract and 5-year written health guarantee with no hidden stipulations or forced purchases

At Royal Flush Cavaliers, we take a different approach, working closely with a network of co-owners, guardians, and like-minded breeders to ensure every dog receives exceptional care and thoughtful placement. Christine divides her time between Massachusetts and Florida, and our extended group includes nurses, trainers, and other professionals with experience across multiple levels of animal (and human) care. Below are a few members of our group:

David and Millie Vitolo - Christine's brother, David, and his wife, Millie, have expanded the family’s breeding program to Florida, offering year-round expertise and stud services for Cavaliers. At Royal Flush Cavaliers, we proudly partner with select local families through our pilot program, where they raise puppies from our lines under our direct guidance. Whether a litter is raised in my home or with one of our trusted partners, I remain personally involved every step of the way, from breeding and whelping to pre-placement protocols and veterinary care. Litters raised in-house have access to our live puppy cam, while those at partner homes receive regular video updates on our social media platforms. OUR PUPPIES
We offer a spectrum of AKC-registered Cavalier colors, from the classic Blenheim, Tricolor, Black and Tan, and Ruby to beautiful Chocolate variations. Through collaborations with fellow breeders, we continue to broaden the palette and preserve the breed’s natural diversity. While the AKC conformation standard officially recognizes only four colors for the show ring, the AKC registration system itself is more inclusive, allowing Cavaliers in additional shades, such as chocolate, black, and black-and-white, to be fully registered for pedigree and breeding purposes.
Below is a small chart of AKC recognized colors for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT OUR PROTOCOLS
WHY ARE VISITS ONLY ALLOWED AFTER PUPPIES HAVE THEIR FIRST VACCINATION?
Our breeding program follows the recommendations and protocols set forth by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) to ensure the optimal health and development of our puppies. We begin human interaction from birth to support emotional and behavioral growth, while limiting outside contact until after initial vaccinations (6–8 weeks) to prevent disease. This careful balance of early socialization and health precautions sets our puppies up for a lifetime of confidence, resilience, and well-being.

WHY ARE PUPPY PLACEMENTS ARE VET APPROVED AND NOT BASED ON YOUR PERSONAL FEELINGS?
As responsible breeders, we recognize both our role and our limitations, which is why we do not attempt to act in the capacity of a veterinarian or make independent medical determinations regarding placement. All of our puppies are evaluated by our board-certified veterinarian prior to placement, and he is the medical professional responsible for assessing, clearing, and approving each puppy before they are allowed to go to their new homes.
The veterinary examination includes a comprehensive evaluation of the puppy’s overall health and development, including the following systems and structures:
Eyes: assessment of the optic nerve, optic disc, lens, cornea, iris, pupils, pupillary light reflex, blink reflex, and menace response to evaluate ocular and neurological function.
Eyelids and Trachea: examined for normal structure and function.
Ears: evaluated for overall health and abnormalities.
Mucous Membranes and Oral Cavity: inspection of the throat, tongue, bite alignment, dental development and malformations, and evaluation for cleft palate.
Cardiopulmonary System: heart and lungs are auscultated and assessed for normal function.
Temperature and Rectal Examination: rectal temperature is obtained, and the rectal area is examined for abnormalities. Anal glands are externally assessed for swelling, discomfort, impaction, or other abnormalities.
Skin and Coat: examined for coat quality, irritation, lumps, bumps, rashes, lesions, fleas, ticks, other external parasites, and additional dermatologic abnormalities.
Lymph Nodes and Thyroid Gland: lymph nodes and throat are palpated and evaluated for enlargement, swelling, pain, or irregularities, including assessment around the ears, armpits (axillary region), groin (inguinal region), and behind the knees (popliteal region). The thyroid gland is also palpated and evaluated.
Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic Assessment: evaluation of bones, joints, posture, gait, limb positioning, spine alignment, and overall movement. The examination includes observation for lameness, luxation, age-appropriate joint laxity, and joint crepitus/cracking.
Feet, Nails, and Tail: assessed for proper structure, alignment, strength, mobility, and any deformities or abnormalities.
Neurological and Circulatory Assessment: femoral pulses are checked and confirmed to be synchronized with the heartbeat. Neurological reflexes and responses are also evaluated.
Abdomen and Nose: examined for normal findings and abnormalities, including evaluation of patent nostrils and normal nasal airflow.
Reproductive Examination: includes examination of the external genitalia and male and female reproductive organs, including evaluation of the testicles, penis, prepuce, vulva, and surrounding tissues, as appropriate.
General Health Assessment: includes body condition scoring (BCS 1–9 scale), weight evaluation, hydration status, parasite screening, anal gland assessment, and behavioral/temperament observations.
Your puppy will receive a Body Condition Score during the examination, and we will relay that information to you following the visit along with any additional findings or recommendations from the veterinarian. On the BCS scale, 1/9 indicates an emaciated condition, while 9/9 indicates severe or gross obesity. A perfect score for examinations would be a 5.
We work with a privately owned veterinary hospital in Massachusetts, which we value greatly, particularly at a time when many veterinary practices have transitioned to corporate ownership. His professional credentials and advanced training include:

CAN YOU PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION ON THE HEALTH OF THE DOGS?
Our dogs undergo comprehensive DNA testing and receive annual health evaluations, including assessments of hips, patellas, cardiac function (auscultation and ECG), and ophthalmologic examinations (CAER). They also receive routine wellness examinations, fecal testing, and dental cleanings as needed to help ensure they remain in excellent overall health.
The orthopedic, cardiac, and general wellness evaluations are performed under the care of our board-certified veterinarian, whose professional background includes advanced training and certifications in orthopedics, regenerative medicine, neurology, and sonographic imaging. His extensive clinical experience and orthopedic expertise provide advanced evaluation of structural soundness, mobility, patellar stability, gait, and overall musculoskeletal health, while his broad medical background also supports comprehensive cardiac and general wellness assessments.
Our CAER eye examinations are performed separately by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist.
While health testing and healthy parents are important, no breeder can guarantee that every puppy will be free from all future health concerns. That is why a breeder’s experience, breeding practices, and long-term commitment to their lines are equally important. With more than 35 years of experience breeding Cavaliers, we stand behind our program with confidence, which is why we offer a five-year cardiac health guarantee on every puppy.
To help you better understand this complex topic, we’ve created a dedicated CAVALIER HEALTH page with detailed information.

With more than 35 years of experience breeding Cavaliers, we stand behind our program with confidence, which is why we offer a five-year cardiac health guarantee on every puppy.
To help you better understand this complex topic, we’ve created a dedicated CAVALIER HEALTH page with detailed information.
WHAT DOES YOUR FIVE YEAR HEALTH GUARANTEE COVER?
All of our placements include our signature Cavalier Five-Year™ health guarantee, an industry first we've proudly upheld for decades. After purchase, you have 14 days to consult your vet; if any congenital or hereditary issues are found, you may return the puppy for a full refund. Because Cavaliers are prone to heart conditions, we also cover early fatal heart defects for up to five years in line with the MVD protocol. To keep this guarantee active, just schedule annual exams. If a concern arises, we may request a second opinion from a vet or specialist of our choosing. In the rare case of early-onset MVD resulting in death within five years, you may submit records to receive a replacement puppy. Veterinary costs not pre-approved in writing are not covered, which is why we strongly recommend pet insurance for routine and emergency care.
A BONA FIDE HEALTH GUARANTEE SHOULD BE OFFERED WITHOUT STRINGS ATTACHED.
At Royal Flush Cavaliers, your puppy’s health, not profit, is our priority. Unlike others who’ve copied our guarantee and added commission-based purchase requirements from affiliates, we don’t force clients to buy specific products to keep their coverage. Our five-year health guarantee stands on its own, with no strings attached. While we share product recommendations, the choice is always yours, as we believe that supplements and other ingestible products should be guided by a veterinarian or nutritionists; not your breeders desire to continue to make commissions off you and your puppy.

The In-a-Home Breeding Progam TM - A KENNEL FREE APPROACH TO BREEDING
We occasionally feature families from our In a Home Breeding Program™ on our website and social media. These families are key to RFC’s kennel-free, humane breeding philosophy. Many of our breeding dogs live with these families, coming back to us only for breeding and whelping, and then returning home. This system offers our clients a unique benefit while ensuring each dog lives and flourishes in a family home, rather than languishing as one of many in a kennel life. We remain committed to this program to show our appreciation for our clients, support our dogs' well-being, and promote openness in our breeding program and process.

LOOKING TO COLLABORATE? WE ENJOY WORKING WITH OTHER BREEDERS.
At Royal Flush Cavaliers, we are committed to fostering positive relationships and supporting the success of others. Collaboration, respect, and constructive efforts form the foundation of our philosophy, as we strive to build a thriving community without resorting to negativity or criticism. Our breeding program is guided by mutual respect, a dedication to continuous learning, and a steadfast commitment to making a meaningful, positive impact on our industry and community.
We are not a breeder that uses our platform to assert dominance or criticize others. We prefer to be a positive in the community and will showcase own achievements and contributions to the breed, and remain available to help or partner with others. Negativity and hostility have no place in this industry, especially when so many Cavalier breeders are willing to combine efforts to support and uplift one another for the betterment of the breed.
We offer stud services and coaching to families throughout New England, Florida and beyond. We welcome anyone interested to reach out and connect with us. Our goal is to create a safe, inclusive environment where meaningful connections can thrive, questions are always welcome, and everyone feels valued as part of the team. Together, we celebrate the joy of Cavaliers and strive to create something truly special.
If our values and approach resonate with you, we’d love to hear from you. We’re eager to collaborate with fellow Cavalier enthusiasts who share our passion or anyone interested in learning more about this remarkable breed.

MORE ABOUT OUR BREEDING PROGRAM
Our program is always evolving as we explore new ways to grow, improve, and expand our impact. This includes mentoring and collaborating with fellow breeders, launching innovative initiatives, and continuously building on our expertise. In recent years, we’ve welcomed new dogs and families, introduced LIVE cam, partnered with like-minded breeders, secured multiple trademarks, and published a series of books for both adults and children. We’re excited for what the future holds and look forward to many more adventures ahead.
IN ADDITION TO OUR PERSONAL AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, WE ALSO COLLABORATE WITH:
COURTNEY'S CAVALIERS (ct) * BURKE CAVALIERS (ny) * BEVERLY HILLS CAVALIERS (ca)
TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE MENTORSHIP FAMILIES, CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR POST ON FACEBOOK
We also offer year round stud service in Florida through our partnership with THE DOGHOUSE LLC.
Though we provide stud service to new breeders, we exclusively provide service to the breeders listed above. Owning the sire of these litters and having an established client base, we assist them with the placement of their puppies too. We believe working in a supportive group fosters growth, development, a system of checks and balances, and an opportunity for everyone to benefit and thrive

REGISTRATION
Registration is for people purchasing to breed or show. If you are considering a puppy to breed or show, you must mention this in your initial email and not after purchase. Breed and show contracts are different than a pet purchase where you would not receive this. If you are looking to show or breed we will consider a dual ownership only We do a contract with dual so that we maintain control over how the lines are developed for the future.

INTRODUCING OUR CHAMPION COMPANION CAVALIER PROGRAM ™ - A UNIQUE DUAL OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY
We’re excited to introduce our Champion Companion Cavalier Program™—a unique opportunity for those interested in both companionship and showing Cavaliers. While we don’t currently show our own dogs, several of our Cavaliers placed on show contracts have found success in the ring. Through this new program, we’re seeking individuals passionate about recreational showing, whether in AKC conformation, obedience, or agility.
As part of the program, you’ll receive a Cavalier puppy free of charge, with the agreement to show them. We maintain dual ownership during the contract period, and upon its completion, full ownership is transferred to you. This approach not only familiarizes our Cavaliers with the show environment but also gives you a chance to enjoy the experience of showing or a chance to develop your own breeding or show program.
WE DO NOT GIVE MEDICAL ADVICE AND BELIEVE THIS IS BEST LEFT TO YOUR VET.
While I understand that medical questions may come up, I always recommend speaking with a licensed veterinarian or specialist. As a breeder, my expertise is in breeding, not veterinary medicine. I didn’t attend medical school, and I believe it’s irresponsible for any breeder to offer medical advice or guidance on treatments, vaccinations or supplements. Even with decades of experience, I rely on my veterinarian when one of my own dogs is sick, and I encourage you to do the same. For any concern, big or small, a professional opinion is always best. If a client needs a veterinarian, I am always happy to do a referral to mine.

WE DO MICROCHIP YOUR DOG
The American Veterinary Medical Association recommends that microchipping be performed or supervised by a veterinarian to ensure safe placement and reduce risks. Vets can recommend trusted brands, properly implant the chip, and notify you of any recalls or changes to registration. While microchipping is low-cost (and often free through pet insurance wellness plans) it’s not without risk. Improper placement can lead to infection, swelling, hair loss, or chip migration, and company closures can render your pet’s chip untraceable if you’re not informed. For these reasons, we do not microchip puppies. We believe this procedure is best left to your veterinarian, where it belongs. See the video below to view the piece about another microchip company closure:

WE DO NOT IMPOSE AGE RESTRICTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO PURCHASING A PET
We do not support policies that are discriminatory in nature, especially when it comes to age. Dogs provide meaningful companionship, emotional support, and health benefits to people of all ages, from helping seniors stay active to teaching children empathy and responsibility. Cavaliers, in particular, are known for their gentle, loving nature and thrive in a wide range of homes. While we take placement seriously, and we believe responsible ownership (not age) should guide that decision. I had my first puppy at just two years old, so why place unfair restrictions on others? If you’ve been denied a puppy placement solely because of your age, we encourage you to review both your state’s and the breeder’s civil rights and consumer protection laws, as such practices may be not only unethical, but also potentially unlawful.

CAVALIER HISTORY
DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN ENGLISH TOY SPANIELS AND CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS
English Toy Spaniels, often referred to as King Charles Spaniels in England, are distinct and separate breeds from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. While there are notable similarities, it's important to discern between them. Let's delve into some historical context to aid in differentiation. Named after King Charles II, these spaniels were cherished by the monarch, boasting elongated noses during his era. After his passing, the popularity of Pugs and similar breeds influenced breeding practices, resulting in the evolution of the English Toy Spaniel as we recognize it today. In the 1920s, Roswell Eldridge sought to revive the original spaniel type, initiating a challenge at the Crufts Dog Show. This endeavor led to the establishment of a breed standard and the birth of the CAVALIER King Charles Spaniel, with the first champion Cavalier, Ann's Son, being born in 1926.

Both breeds share the same four colors and exhibit comparable personalities, yet they are officially registered as separate and distinct breeds. Notably, English Toy Spaniels feature short muzzles and pushed in faces, whereas Cavaliers showcase elongated noses and balanced facial proportions. In terms of size, English Toy Spaniels weigh between 8 to 14 lbs, while Cavaliers fall within the 13 to 18 lbs range, which occasionally leads to attempts to misrepresent them as "toy" Cavaliers. Both breeds face heart valve concerns, but due to their shorter muzzles, English Toy Spaniels encounter breathing issues as well. Additionally, both breeds might be susceptible to neurological problems, with English Toy Spaniels being more predisposed due to the size and shape of their heads. Though exhibiting similarities, English Toy Spaniels and Cavaliers remain distinct breeds that should not be confused with one another.
